Job summary

A leading fintech service provider in Selangor is seeking a Legal, Compliance, and Sustainability professional. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of legal experience, particularly in corporate and regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include drafting APAC commercial contracts, supporting compliance matters, managing legal documentation, and leading sustainability initiatives. Individuals with ESG compliance experience are preferred. This role offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of active legal practice or in-house experience in corporate, commercial, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in ESG Sustainability compliance and APAC legal exposure is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and review APAC commercial contracts in the fintech industry.
  • Provide support on regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Liaise with regulators and external parties regarding compliance.
  • Manage an internal database for legal and compliance documentation.
  • Lead and support sustainability projects and awareness campaigns.

Job description

Assist in drafting and reviewing APAC commercial contracts in particular in the Payment / Fintech Industry.

Advise and provide support on legal and compliance matters, not limited to Regulatory and Compliance Reporting, Operational Compliance, periodic compliance monitoring and Audits.

Liaise with Regulators (BNM, Paynet and others) on regulatory matters and responses to regulators’ queries.

Liaise with external parties such as lawyers, auditors, consultants and other authorities.

Create and manage an internal database for Legal, Compliance and Sustainability documentation.

Provide awareness and training sessions on best practices applicable to Group Compliance Policies and other areas of legal and compliance.

Assist the Group Head, Legal, Compliance and Sustainability (“LCS”) in managing Legal, Compliance and Sustainability risks within the organisation.

Lead and support the Group Head of LCS on the Company’s Sustainability portfolio relating to review implementation and continuous improvement of the Sustainability policies, strategies, disclosure and practices in alignment with corporate goals and regulatory expectations.

Manage ESG/Sustainability related data and support ESG-related queries, due diligence and rating assessments for the Department.

Coordinate internal Sustainability awareness campaigns and training sessions.

Lead and support Sustainability projects, if any, and benchmark industry practice for improvement to the Company’s Sustainability policies.

Assist in other ad-hoc tasks and special projects assigned by the Group Head – Legal, Compliance & Sustainability.

Job Requirements

Candidate must have at least five (5) years of active legal practice or in‑house specialising in the area of corporate, commercial and regulatory compliance.

Candidate with experience in ESG Sustainability compliance and APAC regional legal and compliance exposure will have an added advantage.

Good drafting, analytical, communication and presentation skills.

Must be self‑driven, meticulous and has great enthusiasm.

Able to work independently with minimal supervision and under pressure.

Candidate must be willing to work at Bandar Sri Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.

Education Requirements

Candidate must possess with at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Laws (Hons) or equivalent qualifications.

Pay range and compensation package
