About the Role

To assist the Application Manager in implementation and execution of all initiatives according to strategy. Manages the solution area under him/her and the roadmap for the technology platform or the end solutions supported and acts as the SME for key technology areas. To implement solution according to design philosophies emphasizing on system attributes such as flexibility and modularity.

Roles and Responsibilities

IT Application Management

• Manage and execute the development, design and implementation of new applications and changes to existing information systems and software packages.
• Manage effective delivery with cost efficiency and total quality in ensuring that the investment in IT realizes the intended benefits.
• Define action plan to support IT strategy through sound planning, established methods and resourcing to deliver projects within agreed timelines.
• Manage, enforce and review system change adhered to software development life cycle and software quality management.
• Manage and optimize system delivery aligned to Enterprise Architecture framework
• Manage application availability with timely resolution of issues and problems

Resource & Team Management

• Manage & optimize resource planning and utilization to deliver maximum output to support business demands
• Coach and mentor team to acquire the technical skills to execute their jobs.
• Ensure team performance in alignment to division and company strategy

Design

• Accountable and responsible for a set of solution portfolio to ensure the design and architecture of solutions are scalable and performance optimized
• Ensure business and functional requirements are translated to system solutions
• Lead the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing information systems and software packages.
• Act as the technical lead in major to complex projects/initiatives that drives the business growth

Development

• Develop software codes based on best practices and guidelines
• Perform unit & SIT testing before deploy system for UAT test
• Support and solve UAT issues
• Execute 2nd level production and incident support through close interaction with 1st level support

Scale of projects/systems handled

• Medium, high to major complexity projects as technical lead which is the role accountable for end-to-end application delivery. Collaboration with vendor and infrastructure are also key part of the role undertaken
• Type of projects handle by this role inclusive:
• My AIA roadmap for BAU where incumbent assisted in building automation/new functions that have overall improve and EODB the user experience;

Job Requirements

• Degree in IT from an accredited institution. Master’s degree is preferred.
• 8-10 years of experience in IT application development environment, with 6-8 years in supervisory experience on the supported IT domain (Application solutioning on design and development)

• Sound experience in execution of IT projects with high level of expertise in system application and technology implementation delivery.
• Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with middle management team, internal & external stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Domain proficiency in insurance business and its operations including distribution channels modus operandi is essential
• Able to work independently and highly self‑motivated
• Able to work with peers and other stakeholders, a team player

Technical skills required

• ESB, web services development (json, soap), Oracle, SQL, ASP.Net, React Native, AEM(for future)
