Job summary

A leading construction and development company in Malaysia seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to prepare tenders, assist in contract management, and handle cost estimation. Candidates must have a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying and at least 5 years of experience in related fields. Strong technical skills in cost control and QS software are essential. Qualifications

  • Min 5 years of QS experience, preferably in a QS consulting firm.
  • Experience in construction, building, or civil projects.
  • Familiar with the standard forms, i.e., PAM, IEM, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare tender documents, pricing schedules, and cost breakdowns.
  • Assist in evaluating tenders and making recommendations.
  • Support the Manager in preparing and managing contracts.
  • Handle variation orders, change requests, and final accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and project specification.
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies.
  • Review and update Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Monitor project expenditures and compare against budgets.
  • Prepare final accounts at project close-out.
  • Maintain organized filing of QS documentation for audit trails.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare tender documents, pricing schedules, and cost breakdowns
  • Assist in evaluating tenders and making recommendations

  • Support the Manager in preparing, reviewing, and managing contracts
  • Handle variation orders, change requests, and final account
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and project specification
Support Cost Management
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies
  • Review and update Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
  • Monitor project expenditures and compare against budgets
Reporting & Documentation
  • Support the preparation of final accounts at project close-out
  • Prepare the internal memo / report for top management approval etc
  • Maintain well-organized filing of QS documentation for audit trails
Qualifications & Experience

  • Min 5 years of QS experience (preferable for QS consulting firm)
  • Experience in construction, building, or civil projects.
