Overview

The incumbent facilitates and sustains the strategic vision and relationship with the Forums in ensuring the role, direction and evolution of all Forums designated by MCMC, ensuring they remain effective, future‑ready self‑regulatory bodies that shape the communications and multimedia industry while protecting the public interest. This position is accountable for aligning the Forums' mandates and operations with MCMC's long term priorities and the legislative framework of the Communications and Multimedia Act (CMA) and Postal Services Act (PSA). The role helps guide and establishes goals, directives, and KPIs aligned with the Annual Business Plan (ABP) and Annual Work Plan (AWP), and directs research, policy development, and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Implement comprehensive strategies to engage key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the organisation's goals.
  • Foster and sustain mutually beneficial relationships with relevant strategic stakeholders, promoting collaboration and mutual understanding.
  • Facilitate, recommend and contribute to the development of the Forums' Annual Business Plans and activities, ensuring alignment with MCMC's goals and functions.
  • Effectively monitor and assess Forum performance and provide reports to Management to support strategic development and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct period assessment on the operations of the Forums to ensure they remain viable and effective in performing their role as industry forums in line with the legislations.
  • Represent the division/department in any working groups (internal or external) to communication MCMC's positions and enhance visibility and reputation.
  • Keep abreast of current trends and practices that may impact the Forums and the communications and multimedia sector.
  • Identify areas for improvements with internal and external stakeholders and develop effective tools/mechanisms to address and monitor issues.
  • Manage research projects on matters affecting the functionality of the Forums, with the aim of identifying improvements and enhancements to their operations and contributions.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to departmental staff, fostering professional growth and productivity.
  • Reinforce the department's adherence to regulatory and integrity standards across all activities and interactions.
  • Facilitate in the management and control the department's financial budget and cost to ensure effective and efficiency management and utilisation of the approved budget.
Qualifications & Work Experience
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field particularly in Business Management, Corporate Strategy/Planning, Performance Management and Governance Policy.
  • Leadership Experience: Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the industry or sector in which the organization operates and the specific policy or regulatory issues relevant to that sector.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal.
  • Relationship‑Building: Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, government agencies, and other relevant partners.
  • Candidate must have a minimum 6 years work experience.
  • Experience in communications and multimedia industry, especially in formulating public policies, regulatory insight and business process.
  • Experience in strategic planning, business plan, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Good understanding of C&M regulatory frameworks, roles, functions, processes.
  • Good grasp and analytical capability of industry, market, consumer and data.
  • Good understanding of state and federal issues and initiatives.
  • Good grasp of industry self‑regulation framework.
  • Leadership – Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Relationship Building – Strong interpersonal skills and the capability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and team members.
