A leading snacks and confectionery manufacturer in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Key Account Manager to support the growth of assigned key accounts. This role involves managing account planning, executing promotions, tracking sales performance, and coordinating between internal teams. The Assistant Key Account Manager supports the management and growth of assigned key accounts by assisting in account planning, execution of commercial initiatives, sales performance tracking, and cross‑functional coordination to achieve sales, distribution, and profitability targets.
Support the Key Account Manager in managing assigned key accounts to achieve sales targets, distribution goals, and agreed KPIs.
Assist in the execution of joint business plans (JBP), promotions, trade activities, and in‑store activations.
Coordinate listing, delisting, new product launches, and promotional mechanics with customers.
Track sales performance, forecasts, and promotional effectiveness versus targets.
Prepare regular sales reports, post‑promotion analysis, and business reviews for internal and customer use.
Support demand forecasting by providing accurate inputs based on promotions, seasonality, and customer plans.
Act as a key point of contact for operational matters with customers (orders, delivery issues, pricing, promotions).
Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Service to ensure smooth execution.
Support resolution of trade issues such as claims, returns, shortages, and pricing discrepancies.
Prepare trade documents including promotion proposals, costing sheets, contracts, and claim tracking.
Ensure compliance with company SOPs, trade terms, and financial controls.
Monitor trade spend utilization and support budget tracking.
Support store checks, execution audits, and compliance tracking (where applicable).
Gather market intelligence on competitor activities, pricing, and promotions.
Provide feedback and insights to improve execution quality and customer satisfaction.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related fields.
1–3 years of experience in sales support, account management, or commercial roles.
Experience in FMCG, retail, or modern trade environment is preferred.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
Detail‑oriented with strong follow‑up and execution discipline.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and basic reporting tools.
Ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced environment.
Proactive, responsible, and eager to learn.
