Job summary

A leading HR consultancy firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced HR Manager to manage full-cycle recruitment, develop HR policies, and implement employee engagement strategies. Overview

Manage full-cycle recruitment, from sourcing and screening to interviewing and onboarding. Partner with hiring managers to understand manpower needs and create targeted sourcing strategies. Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline, including niche and specialist roles. Assist in forming annual HR plans that align with business goals. Provide HR insights, talent data, and recommendations to management for decision-making. Support organisational development initiatives such as restructuring, capability building, and culture enhancement. Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and policies.

  • Performance Management
    • Support the implementation of performance appraisal cycles.
    • Guide managers on performance reviews, documentation, and performance improvement plans.
    • Ensure fairness, transparency, and compliance in performance practices.
  • Employee Engagement & Retention
    • Plan and execute engagement programmes, team-building activities, and wellbeing initiatives.
    • Analyze engagement feedback and propose actionable improvements.
    • Support retention strategies by monitoring turnover data and conducting stay/exit interviews.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance
    • Provide advice to employees and managers on HR policies, disciplinary matters, and grievance handling.
    • Ensure HR practices comply with Employment Act and relevant Malaysian legislation.
    • Maintain accurate employee records in accordance with PDPA requirements.
  • Payroll & HR Operations
    • Coordinate monthly payroll inputs and validate data accuracy with Finance.
    • Oversee statutory contributions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, HRD Corp).
    • Ensure timely preparation of letters, contracts, HR reports, and manpower data.
  • Talent Management & Development
    • Support competency framework development and talent mapping exercises.
    • Coordinate training needs analysis (TNA), annual training plans, and programme evaluation.
    • Track career progression, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
    • Provide coaching support to managers on staff development conversations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably with exposure to consultancy or professional services.
  • Good command of Malaysian labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition and talent management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, analytical thinking, and ability to partner with senior stakeholders.
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills in English, Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia.
