The role ensures compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), Bursa Malaysia listing requirements, Companies Act 2016, and statutory regulations, while maintaining sound financial control and timely reporting for management and regulatory purposes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with MFRS.
- Support the preparation of quarterly Bursa Malaysia announcements and annual report disclosures.
- Coordinate with company secretaries, external auditors, internal auditors, and tax agents.
- Ensure compliance with Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), and Companies Act 2016.
2. Management Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and financial performance dashboards.
- Analyse financial results, trends, and KPIs to support decision-making.
- Assist in budget preparation, cash flow forecasting, and financial planning.
3. Accounting Operations
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, and inventory.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting schedules.
- Ensure accurate month-end closing and adherence to reporting timelines.
4. Internal Controls & Governance
- Strengthen internal control systems, SOPs, and compliance processes.
- Ensure adherence to corporate governance standards for listed companies.
- Monitor compliance with internal audit recommendations.
5. Treasury & Cash Management
- Support cash flow planning and monitoring of banking facilities.
- Liaise with banks on treasury matters, loan documents, and corporate guarantees.
6. Taxation
- Assist with tax computations, SST returns, and regulatory submissions.
- Liaise with tax consultants on tax planning and compliance matters.
7. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Coordination
- Supervise and mentor junior finance staff.
- Collaborate with operational departments, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or Professional Qualification (ACCA/ CPA/ ICAEW/ CIMA/ MICPA).
- Member of MIA (preferred or in progress).
- 5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in a public-listed company or audit firm (Big 4/ medium tier).
- Strong exposure to financial reporting, consolidation, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Solid knowledge of MFRS, Bursa Listing Requirements, and Malaysian tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting systems (SAP/ Oracle/ Microsoft Dynamics/ SQL/ Netsuite).
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight reporting deadlines.
- Experience in industry-specific reporting (property development, manufacturing, construction, plantation, etc.).
- Familiarity with ESG reporting and IntegratedReporting(IR).
