Job description
Assistant Director of Finance - Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur

Assist the Cluster Director of Finance in overseeing the day‑to‑day financial operations of our hotels, ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and hotel policies.

Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.

Coordinate and supervise the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads.

Conduct regular financial audits and internal controls to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.

Guide and supervise the Accounting, Materials, and IT departments.

Provide financial analysis and reports to senior management to assist decision‑making.

Mentor and lead the finance team, fostering continuous improvement and professional development.

Oversee tax filings and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate filings.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CA Malaysia, CPA Australia, CIMA, CGMA, MICPA, ICAEW, AIA, ISCA, CAT preferred).
  • Proven experience as an Assistant Director of Finance or similar senior accounting role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • In‑depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting and tax regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team‑management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with hotel financial systems (Opera, Infrasys, iScala, Birchstreet or similar) is a plus.
