As an Area Manager at SUBWAY, you will play a crucial role in overseeing multiple restaurant locations within the assigned geographic area.
You will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, managing staff, and focusing on in-store issues while fostering a positive work environment.

This position is open for multiple locations in Pahang.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides leadership to managers and staff in the geographic area to ensure compliance with standards as set in the SUBWAY Operations Manual and applicable government regulations.
- Monitors and manages operational performance, including sales, profitability, and compliance with Subway standards and policies.
- Works with staff to achieve sales goals, using available reports to identify opportunities.
- Ensures the highest level of customer service and food quality is maintained at all locations.
- Ensures that correct operational procedures are followed and takes corrective action if necessary.
- Instills a sense of ownership and accountability for money, stocks and company property on the restaurant team.
- Responsible for the daily movement of money and products.
- Coaches and trains Managers, Assistant Managers, and Senior Sandwich Artists for operational excellence, helps develop new hire orientation programs and rewards programs, monitors training processes to ensure quality training of employees.
- Communicates changes to food preparation formulas, standards, etc. to the restaurant team.
- Supports local and national marketing initiatives.
- Reports to Directors on the restaurants’ weekly progress and performance, identifies areas of improvement.
- Completes online coursework on the University of SUBWAY as directed.
Job Requirements
- Education: Diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred.
- Previous experience as an Area Manager or similar role in a fast‑food chain or QSR industry.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales and profitability targets.
- Strong leadership, team‑building, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional problem‑solving abilities and a customer‑focused mindset.
- Must be able to draw on Operations experience and knowledge of SUBWAY’s procedures to recommend appropriate solutions to restaurant problems.
- Physical: Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 5kg frequently and up to 15kg occasionally.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours including public holidays & weekends as needed.
