Job summary

A leading technology firm located in Penang is seeking a Technical Customer Support Specialist to serve as the primary contact for customers, addressing issues with product performance. The ideal candidate will assist in selecting chip inductors for circuits and analyze schematics for optimal placement. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Physics, with at least 2 years in electronic engineering and familiarity with simulation tools. Strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in electronic engineering field with a preference in layout design.
  • Strong understanding of electrical components including inductors, power electronics, and RF principles.
  • Basic knowledge on product manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical contact for customers and resolve issues related to products.

Technical Customer Support & Design-In
  • Customer Support: Acting as the primary technical contact for customers, resolving issues related to product performance, application, and quality.
  • Design-In Activities: Assisting customers with the selection of appropriate chip inductors for their specific circuits (e.g., DC-DC converters, RF filters, power management units) to ensure the product is chosen during the initial design phase.
  • Circuit Analysis: Analyzing schematics and PCB layouts to recommend optimal placement and verify electrical performance.
  • Modeling & Simulation: Using SPICE or similar simulation tools to predict inductor behavior in customer applications.
  • Application Notes: Creating technical documentation, application notes, and white papers to help customers understand how to best use the inductors.
  • Datasheets: Understanding technical specifications and providing support for products datasheets.
Manufacturing & R&D Interface
  • Technical knowledge: Basic knowledge on product manufacturing process.
  • Feedback Loop: Providing feedback to R&D and sales teams based on customer needs to improve future products.
  • Requirements:
    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or Physics
    • Minimum 2 years in electronic engineering field. Preferable in layout design.
    • Strong understanding of electrical components (Eg: inductors, power electronics, and RF principles).
    • Familiarity with simulation tools (like LTspice)
  • Skills: Good communication skills for client-facing, ability to work independently, and strong problem-solving skills.
