Job summary

A laboratory services provider in Penang is seeking an Analyst to support laboratory operations through analytical testing and technical reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting sample analyses, maintaining accurate lab records, and ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 principles. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply, and experience with GC-MS and LC-MS is a plus. This role requires dedication to laboratory best practices and may involve travel and weekend work.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in a related science field, with a preference for Chemistry.
  • Technically competent in laboratory operations and maintenance.
  • Experience with GC-MS or LC-MS is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 concepts is a plus.

Job description

The Analyst will support laboratory operations through analytical testing, technical reporting, and administrative duties, while practicing and promoting laboratory best practices aligned with the principles of ISO/IEC 17025 as the laboratory prepares for future accreditation.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and ad-hoc sample analyses for assigned laboratory projects.

Carry out laboratory work in accordance with good laboratory practices and ISO/IEC 17025 principles.

Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate laboratory records.

Provide on-site testing services, including travel and weekend work when required.

Support training of new staff and industrial trainees.

Assist in the development and maintenance of SOP's and laboratory documentation.

Support general laboratory housekeeping, maintenance, and minor repair work.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in a related science field (Chemistry background preferred).

Technically competent in general laboratory operations and maintenance.

Experience with GC-Ms and/or LC-MS is an advantage.

Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 concepts or quality systems is an advantage.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; prior laboratory or instrumentation experience is a plus.
