Job summary

A leading corporation in finance located in Lahad Datu, Malaysia is seeking an experienced accountant to manage full sets of accounts and ensure smooth financial operations. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant experience, proficiency in accounting software, and strong language skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin. This role includes preparing reports, handling daily operations, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an audit firm will be an added advantage.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of financial information.

Responsibilities

  • Handle full set of accounts and month-end closing.
  • Perform daily accounting operations including accounts receivable/payable.
  • Prepare monthly P&L and Balance Sheet for Management review.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and bankers.

Job description
Job Responsibilities

Handle full set of accounts and be responsible for smooth month-end closing, monthly reports, and other financial matters.

Perform daily accounting operations and functions such as accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, cash book, inventory, month-end closing, and all the necessary accruals and reversals.

Financial data entry and general bookkeeping, i.e issue payment and sales invoice, purchase returned issue, sales returned issue, update the schedule/ records and etc.

Ensuring timely progress billings, collections, reports, and documentations.

Maintain, prepare & monitor aging receivable & payable reports as well as follow up for payment.

Prepare the monthly P&L and the schedule of the Balance Sheet for Management to review according to the deadline.

Liaise with the auditor, tax agent, and banker.

Assist in monitoring company cash flows, cash flow projection, bank reconciliation, bank facilities and etc.

Resolve any different find in records, statements, or documented transactions.

Reconciles the department’s accounting activities to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Ensure all accounting records and documents are properly filed, labelled, and kept for future reference.

Assist the Account Manager in any financial-related and accounting administrative matters.

Perform any other tasks assigned by the superior/ Management from time to time

Job Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate/Degree in Finance / Accounting / Banking, and equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in the related field, and working in an audit firm will be an added advantage.
  • Maintain and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Good command of spoken and written English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin.
  • Experience in using accounting software is required.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office 365.
  • Proactive team player.
