About Our Client
Our client is a multinational manufacturer and supplier of building materials used in commercial, residential, and industrial construction. This role offers hybrid work arrangement (2 days in office, 3 days from home)
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Accounting & Month-End Closing
- Lead and execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure accuracy of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Review balance sheet schedules and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
- Ensure compliance with local GAAP, group accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Tax Compliance & Transfer Pricing
- Manage corporate tax filings, tax provisioning, and liaison with tax agents/authorities.
- Oversee indirect tax compliance (GST/VAT/SST) where applicable.
- Ensure proper documentation and implementation of transfer pricing policies.
- Support tax planning, audits, and advisory matters with external consultants.
- Statutory Reporting & Audit
- Lead statutory audit processes with external auditors.
- Prepare or review statutory financial statements and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate regulatory filings and ensure compliance with local statutory deadlines.
- Internal Controls & Compliance
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to group policies.
- Identify process gaps and lead improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Support internal audits and ensure timely remediation of audit findings.
- Maintain proper documentation and compliance evidence for all accounting processes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with FP&A, Treasury, AR, AP, and Operations teams to ensure alignment.
- Provide accounting guidance for new initiatives, projects, or transactions.
- Act as the point of contact for technical accounting queries.
- Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive automation and efficiencies in accounting processes.
- Support enhancements to ERP systems, reporting tools, and workflow solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across accounting systems.
Key Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least bachelor’s degree in accounting, and preferably with accounting professional qualification.
- At least 3 year(s) of working experience in related field and experience in audit firm will be an added advantage.
- Superior understanding of accounting principles.
- Hands-on experience in dealing with various tax matters.
- Ability to work in a global matrix organisation.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Melayu.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office suite) and familiar with ERP software.
- Ability to multi-task with good initiative.
- Able to work with minimum supervision and independently to deliver on time.
