Job summary

A prominent industrial firm in Penang is seeking an Accounting Officer to manage financial records and ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in accounting and experience with accounting practices. Responsibilities include managing accounts, handling bookkeeping tasks, and liaising with various departments to support operational efficiency. Candidates are expected to have proficiency in relevant accounting software and strong analytical skills. This position offers an opportunity to work independently while contributing to team success.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualification: diploma or degree in accounting or related field.
  • At least xx years experience as an accounting officer or similar position.
  • Knowledge in SST Reporting is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full sets of accounts including AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliation.
  • Handle bookkeeping, payments, invoices, and petty cash.
  • Perform day-to-day accounting operations and ensure compliance with standards.

Responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, SST, and LHDN processes.
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting software SQL Account.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Manage full sets of accounts (AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation).
  • Handle bookkeeping, payments, invoices, and petty cash.
  • Perform day-to-day accounting operations and ensure records comply with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Liaise with head office departments and collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and effective communication within the branch.
  • Undertake ad hoc duties as and when assigned.

  • Minimum qualification: diploma or degree in accounting or related field.
  • At least xx years experience as an accounting officer or similar position.
  • Knowledge in SST Reporting is an added advantage.
  • Pro-active individual with good working attitude, willing to learn and able to work under pressure and tight deadline.
