Job Summary
The Account Assistant supports daily accounting operations with a focus on manufacturing accounting, costing, and tax compliance. This role requires hands‑on involvement in accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost tracking, SST reporting, and basic tax‑related tasks to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with statutory requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 1–2 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Exposure to costing, SST, and tax‑related tasks is preferred
- Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience may be considered
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia
Key Responsibilities
- Handle daily accounting transactions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Prepare and issue invoices, debit notes, credit notes, and official receipts
- Maintain accurate accounting records in the accounting system
- Assist in monitoring and recording manufacturing costs, including material, labour, and overhead
- Support product costing, cost analysis, and cost variance tracking
- Assist in SST computation, preparation, and submission
- Support tax‑related matters including basic corporate tax documentation and schedules
- Perform bank reconciliation and monitor cash flow
- Maintain proper filing of accounting and supporting documents
- Assist in month‑end closing, management reports, and audit preparation
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, auditors, tax agents, and internal departments
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company procedures
- Perform ad‑hoc tasks assigned by management or senior accounts staff
Required Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing accounting and costing principles
- Understanding of SST regulations and basic tax compliance requirements
- Ability to handle AP, AR, and general ledger entries
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong numerical, analytical, and attention‑to‑detail skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Responsible, systematic, and well‑organized
