Job Description Summary

This is a 12 months long apprenticeship program supporting aircraft engine maintenance activities, including the assembly, disassembly, installation and removal of engine components in accordance with approved procedures, quality standards and safety requirements. The position involves hands‑on shop work combined with structured On‑The‑Job and classroom training, alongside regular competency, behaviour and discipline assessments. Working closely with Certified Mechanics, Engineers and trainers, the role builds strong technical and operational capabilities while ensuring full compliance with company policies, aviation regulations, quality and EHS requirements.

GE Aerospace Engine Services Malaysia (GEESM) in Subang plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and performance of aviation fleets every day. Established in 1997 as a Center of Excellence for CFM56 engines, GEESM has grown into a key hub of our global operations. It now services commercial aircraft engines, components, and accessories. Role Overview:
  • Support aircraft engine maintenance activities, including assembly, disassembly, installation and removal of engine components.
  • Perform basic shop practices in accordance with approved procedures, quality standards and safety requirements.
  • Participate in structured On‑The‑Job training, classroom training and quarterly competency, behaviour and discipline assessments.
  • Work closely with Certified Mechanics, Engineers and trainers to develop technical and operational competencies.
  • Comply with company policies, aviation regulations, quality and EHS requirements.
  • Willing to work on rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays and perform overtime as required by operations.
  • Based in Subang, with potential future assignment in Sepang as per business requirements.
  • Work location: Subang and will be stationed at Sepang from Q4 2026.
  • Weekend Availability: The role requires availability to work on weekends, as part of the rotational schedule or as needed to support business operations.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Strong interest in aircraft engine maintenance and the aerospace industry.
  • Willingness to learn and undergo structured training and assessment.
  • Good discipline, attendance and strong quality and safety mindset.
  • Able to work in a team‑based, shop‑floor environment.
  • Physically fit and able to perform hands‑on technical tasks.
  • Good communication skills in English (spoken and written).
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance (Mechanical or Avionics).
  • Must have completed relevant engineering and technical subjects, including but not limited to:
    • Basic Engineering
    • Gas Turbine Engines
    • Air Legislation
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with less than two (2) years of working experience.
  • Minimum CGPA of 3.0.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to aircraft maintenance environment through internship or industrial training.
  • Basic knowledge of aviation regulations and maintenance practices.
  • Positive attitude, adaptability and willingness to work in a fast‑paced operational environment.
