Title: A2R Reporting Senior Accountant – South East Asia & India / SKANZ JP & Greater Gulf
About the job
Our Team: The Account to Report (A2R) Reporting team is accountable for the processing of transactions related to accounting and reporting of financial books. This role will support the A2R Reporting Lead in ensuring the enforcement of accounting standards and reliability of the data collected from management, controllers, tax department and other end-to-end processes. The role also requires active participation in driving A2R continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Core model Implementation
- Implement and ensure alignment with core model
- Propose and support projects which aim to align to core model and transform/automate processes
- Embrace RPA mindset
- Operations
- Ensure quality reporting of legal statutory accounts and consolidation packages within local regulatory and Sanofi Group calendar timeframes
- Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (IFRS) and company procedures to ensure integrity of financial information (SAGA and GDOPS)
- Participate in closing governance meetings
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
- Highlight potential delays
- Support A2R Reporting Lead in CFO closing meetings with detailed analysis and explanations of material changes
- Contribute to Sanofi Account Committee and Customer Board preparation and reviews
- Collaborate with A2R Retained, other End to End processes (P2P, OTC and PS), tax & treasury, Country Finance, and Finance Operations to manage closing risks
- Participate in Sanofi global projects & transitions with close collaboration with project teams and other End to End processes
- Implement A2R Core Model for transitions to KL (including participation in CM presentations & IA workshops)
- Challenge assumptions and validate results to ensure financial data reflect true business performance
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with local accounting and regulatory requirements
- Align, promote and deliver per Global A2R Vision and Mission incorporating Sanofi’s Take the Lead behaviors
- Compliance
- Maintain strong internal controls by initiating change management to implement internal controls per A2R Core Model and ensure SOX and local GAAP compliance
- Ensure SOX and Internal Control Framework compliance across activities; partner with A2R Reporting Lead and Country Finance to identify and address gaps
- Support external and internal audits by working with A2R Reporting Lead and Country Finance
- Follow up on issues identified during audits
- Ensure proper internal control framework and prepare SOA documentation
- Ensure SOP documentation is updated timely to reflect latest process/tool/policy changes
- Continuous Improvements
- Partner with A2R Reporting Lead to monitor performance against SLAs and define corrective actions as needed
- Identify and articulate improvement areas across processes and technology, including ERP and other tools
- Support customer satisfaction initiatives, including regular assessment of service satisfaction across Country Finance and other stakeholders
About you
Key Requirements:
Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum 6 years of relevant working experience in Finance/Accounting (A2R/SSC)
- Exposure to multinational or regional corporate environments, or similar
- Working experience with SAP, specifically FI/CO
- Proficient in MS-Office, including MS-Excel
- Good English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Accounting standards: main country of the region and IFRS
- Attention to detail
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or a Bachelor's/Professional Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience in a customer-facing and service-oriented corporate role
- Experience in a Finance shared services environment, captive (in-house) or BPO
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
