Job summary

09 - Senior Lead Engineer, Software 1

Location: Penang, 07, MY

General Overview
Summary

The Senior Lead Engineer, Software develops, debugs, tests, deploys and supports code to be deployed in systems/products/equipment for various applications. They write, debug, maintain, and test software in various common languages and for software at various levels in the hierarchy (from Firmware to Application). Software creation follows an agreed to development process (such as Agile, Scrum, etc.) and complies with the product life cycle development (phase/gate deliverables).

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Define technical proposal and related specification & implement guide
  • Work closely with front-end/vendor/customer to meet product request
  • Design common and customized features for JDM and Portfolio products
  • Technical lead to triage and troubleshoot issues with cross function, find the root cause and solutionof issue
  • Deliver the BIOS release package for Celestica production.
  • 5+ years of experience with BIOS/UEFI Firmware development.
  • Understand x86 architecture and PC-related industry standards (PCIe, ACPI, JEDEC, USB, ATA, IPMI, Redfish, etc.).
  • Have good experience in the BIOS/UEFI firmware framework/code structure and/or IBV BIOS code (e.g., AMI, Insyde, or Phoenix code).
  • Be familiar with Intel PI SPEC, EDK I or EDK II. And Experience with RAS is preferred
  • Opensource:EDK II and coreboot are preferred
  • Excellent debug and troubleshooting skills.
  • Multicultural working experience is desirable.
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
