Manage People
- Be responsible for the induction of all newcomers within his/her perimeter (including temporaries). Ensure the organization and scheduling of training actions.
- Analyze flexibility and multi-skills needs of his/her APZ, and define training plans to develop team autonomy and a spirit of improvement.
- Monitor the certification process for each operator and update the flexibility grid in real time.
- Manage daily activities: absenteeism, holidays, enforcement of safety rules, environment risk analysis, communication within APZ, and update performance boards.
- Ensure respect for standard stops (breaks, meetings) by systematically checking on the genba, and validate operators' working times.
- Ensure that reaction standards are applied rigorously and escalate issues according to standards.
- Follow up on APZ main objectives in monthly meetings with all responsible personnel.
- Be responsible for personnel involvement and ensure a positive social climate.
- Conduct annual appraisals for operators, as well as salary reviews and career interviews.Maintain Standards
- Perform On-the-Job Training (OJT) for his/her teams daily on standards implemented.
- Ensure enforcement of health, safety, environmental, and site rules for the APTs within his/her perimeter, ensuring all entrants respect these rules.
- Ensure the existence of updated working instructions for every station, including reworks.
- Ensure respect for all working standards (safety, work instructions, quality, 5S, respect of the product, OK start) during operations and propose/implement improvements.
- Define work standards with support functions and operators.
- Ensure proper deployment and use of TPM standards: abnormality detection (formalized on red tags), systematic inspection, regular cleaning of equipment by the team, first-level preventive maintenance, and maintenance line QRQCs.
- Regularly control equipment performance on the genba (including cycle time measurements and microstoppages observation sessions) and react accordingly.
- Conduct regular time measurements seeking main MUDA.
- Ensure all displays in his/her perimeter (QCDM by APT, QCDM, and communication areas at APZ level) are updated at the end of each shift, and ensure workers have the necessary materials.
Manage Production- Propose weekly APZ headcounts and organization to the APU Manager according to MPS.
- Ensure production respects SQCDM and inventory targets.
- In case of a problem that cannot be solved by the APT, assign and verify containment and corrective actions with APU support functions or management.
- Review daily all QRAPs of his/her perimeter.
- React to issues and escalate when necessary at the APU level.
- Liaise with the Supply Chain team on daily MPS priorities.
- Respect the daily MPS contract.
- Address deviations from the weekly MPS within the week, after validation by the manager, to ensure weekly targets are met.
- Involve support functions as needed to resolve issues quickly.
- Monitor shift QCDM and ensure QCDM boards are updated.
- Prepare reports as defined by the site.
Manage Continuous Improvement- Lead action plans to improve SQCDM performance, including productivity plans (P-30), aligning with APU & Plant goals.
- Maintain a dynamic and effective Proposal of Improvements system.
- Participate in safety and environmental risk reduction and lead line Safety QRQC for category 7 safety issues.
- Contribute to new equipment and process start-ups.
- Lead zoning evolution and improvements with his/her team.
- Participate in APU QRQC meetings, providing necessary data for effective discussions.
- Pilot PDCA / FTA & Maintenance 5 WHYs on topics assigned by APU Manager (Safety, Quality, DL efficiency, TRP, Maintenance).
- Prepare LLC & Kaizen Cards.
- Lead VPS workshops (flow analysis – MUDA hunting, 5S, Hoshin, TPM) and liaise with Site VPS Manager for training; participate in the weekly Site VPS committee, presenting workshop status.
- Liaise with support functions to facilitate improvement actions within the APTs.
- Participate in budget preparation (headcounts, overheads, investments, P-30) and manage his/her APZ budget.
- Promote the Valeo 5 axes in daily activities, develop improvement plans on VPS, IP, TQ, and reach V5000 targets.
