CommScope is looking to add a Financial Controller based in Ciudad Juárez, México.
How You'll Help Us Connect the World
Owner of all the accounting, tax, and treasury activities for a manufacturing site, ensuring financial integrity and compliance with US GAAP and Mexico GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley regulation, local laws, and other relevant regulations. Safeguards our company’s assets and supports cash and profit generation through strong partnerships with site operations, business units, accounting and cost accounting shared services, and other functional management. Leads financial insights as a member of the local senior executive team and drives process standardization.
Supervises tax, treasury, and accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, cash and bank, inventory, fixed assets, and direct and indirect taxes.
Proactively handles inventory risks and works to improve the company’s working capital.
Develops, implements, and maintains accounting systems and processes in accordance with company procedures and policies. Ensures accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of accounting data according to US GAAP and Mexican GAAP, complying with local statutory requirements.
Develops and maintains a sound system of internal controls for SOX 404 compliance.
Collaborates with BU Finance to develop annual operation budgets. Manages and directs the compilation of financial analysis on a monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc basis. Reviews actual performance against the budget and prior period results. Presents and reviews monthly financial results and quarterly balance sheet analysis. Alerts senior management to any potential financial exposure.
Represents the local company externally on all finance-related matters. Acts as a liaison with government, internal and external auditors, and financial institutions.
Leads a team of finance employees. Develops staffing plans and spending budgets. Sets annual performance objectives and monitors performance. Establishes schedules for financial projects and prioritizes workloads. Coaches and develops team members.
Stays updated with the latest technical, accounting, and regulatory updates. Assesses their business impact and implements appropriate solutions.
Works with the local Import/Export Department to ensure efficient and effective techniques are in place, in accordance with company policies and U.S., Mexico, and international laws.
Required Qualifications for Consideration
• BS Degree in Accounting.
• 10-15 years of experience in Accounting within a global manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to work in a dynamic, proactive, self-starting environment.
• At least 8 years’ experience in a management position in accounting/finance.
Skills Required
• Validated Cost Accounting Experience.
• Multidimensional leadership and drive, capable of working at strategic and tactical levels.
• Extensive background in handling sophisticated financial and operational issues, with results-oriented problem resolution.
• Leadership roles in accounting/audit.
• Strong knowledge of US/Mexican GAAP.
• Advanced communication and presentation skills for building consensus.
• Strong leadership, integrity, and professionalism.
• Mentoring and development skills for team growth.
• Mastery of SOX principles and understanding of related issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s Degree
• Experience with foreign locations a plus.
• SAP HFM Controlling Module preferred.
