Our client is a large, multi-site university with three campuses in London. They are hiring a Head of Technical Compliance (facilities & estates) to join their Estates, Environment and Facilities Directorate.

Your new role

As Head of Technical Compliance, you will be responsible for all compliance assurance and risk management related to their estate. The role is crucial in ensuring that the estates and facilities activities across the multi-campus estate comply with legal and statutory requirements for all operational and project services. It requires highly developed leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to motivate and involve teams to achieve compliance targets. This will involve collating information from audits, surveys, reports of plant and building services, analyzing data from the CAFM system, reviewing permits to work and method statements from contractors, and designing systems to control compliance-related data. Key duties include:

• Creating a positive, proactive, collaborative, and supportive compliance culture within the directorate.
• Interrogating the findings of the 2024 compliance audit and developing a comprehensive, auditable plan to resolve all issues identified.
• Coordinating the monitoring and timely completion of quarterly estate compliance reports to demonstrate that systems are in place to ensure safety and compliance with legislation and guidance.
• Establishing standards for best practice in contractor management and CDM compliance.
• Preparing for and hosting inspections as required.
• Investigating technical issues alongside engineers when systems and processes fail to deliver.

What you'll need to succeed

Relevant experience in managing compliance across technical assets related to estates and facilities is required. Additionally:

• Strong technical knowledge regarding estate and facilities assets.
