Jobbeschreibung

This is a new and exciting fixed-term role offering leadership opportunities for an experienced clinician, to support the development, implementation and establishment of a pilot service to test a new neurodiversity (ND) service model for children and young people (CYP) across several South East London (SEL) boroughs. This is initially a 12 month pilot with the potential to extend to 18 months.

The pilot will test a new multi-borough ND support and assessment model, facilitating a reduction in the longest waits for ADHD and ASD assessment across the system. The Hub will be multi-disciplinary, including community paediatrics, psychiatry, GP, speech & language therapy, nursing and psychology.

The postholder will be a skilled and highly experienced clinician, managing risk and improve outcomes for children, young people within the ND Hub. This will involve providing clinical assessments and interventions, as well as providing consultation and clinical expertise. Additionally, they will be responsible for the day-to-day operational delivery of the service and will be supported in developing the scope of the service, outcomes and full pathway evaluation and re-design throughout the duration of the pilot. The postholder will be expected to thrive within a complex and blended environment, fostering effective team working in an integrated manner, working in partnership with stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for children.

Main duties of the job
  • To co-lead, manage and plan the delivery of the new clinical pilot, with the Clinical Programme Lead and Programme Manager, supporting the workforce and children and young people within and across services.
  • To act as a clinical and service delivery expert, providing insight to the ND Hub Clinical Programme Lead and the ND Programme Manager/Senior Manager, enabling effective pathway co-design and development.
  • To support the development, evaluation and monitoring of relevant service delivery policies or standard operating procedures, through the deployment of professional skills in service management, research, service evaluation and audit.
  • To escalateto the directorate management team any challenges and opportunities relating to service performance.
  • To be responsible for the good clinical governance, quality, evidence-based practice and appropriateness of the work of practitioners in the service.
  • To effectively manage the team budget and be an authorised signatory.
  • To be responsible for the delivery of highly effective staff management, supervision and support for the team within the CYP ND Hub, including identifying and enabling support strategies to facilitate a positive, inclusive and psychologically safe environment.
  • To lead the service and enable the successful development and inclusion of digital solutions and IT systems to support the delivery of a highly effective service and future focused service.

Person Specification
Education/Qualifications
  • Doctoral (Psychologist) Level Training accredited by HCPC or Masters (Nursing) Level Training accredited by NMC
  • Completion of post qualification training including neurodiversity/neurodevelopmental specialism
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to supporting children and young people with gender-related distress and gender-incongruence within CAMHS
Experience
  • Experience of neurodiversity (ADHD and/or ASD) assessment and treatment of CYP with a range of needs of a complex nature in children and young people's services within neurodiversity/neurodevelopmental services.
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups (inc across the age range/clinical severity)
  • Experience of leading or supporting service design and transformation
  • Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision
Skills/Ability/Knowledge
  • High-level ability to communicate effectively
  • Skills in providing consultation to others
  • Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the relevant professional body
  • Advanced skills in working with several clients and systems together, managing the highly complex emotional relationships within and between the component parts of the systems in ways, which maximise the potential for therapeutic outcomes
  • Knowledge of a range of therapeutic ideas/approaches/models in assessment and treatment relevant to discipline.
  • Skills in the use of complex methods of clinical assessment, intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
