The role

As an Ordinance and Explosives Supervisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for the daily management of the RAF Halton explosives facilities and of the Halton 25m Barrack ranges.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee storage, issue, and receipt of all ammunition and explosives at RAF Halton, maintaining accurate records in both paper and electronic systems
  • Manage the PES log book, including monthly checks and coordination with the Babcock Armament Compliance Manager for quarterly audits
  • Control ammunition and explosive stock levels in line with authorised scales and Annual Explosives Requirement (AER), ensuring compliance with Explosive Licence limits
  • Act as UAMS account holder for RAF Halton, responsible for all ammunition demands and transactions.

This role is full time working 39 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Halton, Buckinghamshire.

Essential experience of the Ordinance and Explosives Supervisor
  • Familiarity with military environments (desirable)
  • Open to training and development through service-led programmes
  • Confident interacting with individuals at all levels
  • Proficient in IT systems and tools
  • Experience in supervisory roles.
