Job summary
A technology consulting firm is seeking an experienced Android Developer for a 6-month contract in Romsey. The role involves feature development, user support, and product reliability improvements. Candidates should have strong Android app development skills, including experience with Java and Python. Applicants with active SC clearance are preferred.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Android app architecture, particularly the activity lifecycle.
- Experience in Android app development using Android Studio and Gradle.
- Knowledge of Java and Python/Flask is essential.
Responsibilities
- Support existing users and sustain the product.
- Develop and take ownership of new feature development.
- Contribute to shaping end-user requirements into actionable activities.
Skills
Our client is looking for an Android Developer to work onsite at their office in either Woking or Romsey, on a 6‑month initial contract. This role is Inside IR35 and requires a candidate to hold active SC clearance.
This role will entail supporting existing users, sustaining the product, and contributing to the development of significant new product capability. It will include taking ownership of new feature development and contributing to shaping end‑user requirements into actionable development activities.
- Feature development
- Providing support to existing users
- Implementation of Edge Analytics Proof‑of‑Concept
- Updates to automated testing infrastructure
- Debugging and reliability improvements
- Performance analysis of Android devices
- Contribute to client visits and demos
- Android app development (Android Studio/Gradle)
- Experience using the Android Camera/camera2/CameraX API
- Strong understanding of Android app architecture, particularly the activity lifecycle
