We are currently recruiting for a Tool Maker to join a leading manufacturing business based in Corby. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a specialised team, where you'll play a key role in preparing, maintaining, and managing all tooling for a busy metal forming department.
Location: Corby
Shift: Monday - Friday (AM or PM Shift)
Salary: £40 - £50k (Depending on Shift)
Duties:
* Prepare complete tooling kits for metal forming equipment (coiled, slotted, and solid pins)
* Order tools as required, obtaining quotes and approvals
* Inspect and accept/reject tools based on specifications and drawings
* Track, store, and maintain all tools and related documentation
* Submit gauges for calibration and maintain calibration records
* Monitor tool availability to ensure timely set-ups for all scheduled jobs
* Liaise with external vendors to ensure timely delivery of tooling
* Maintain tool drawing binders and ensure accessibility to shop personnel
* Promote good housekeeping and safe working practices at all times
* Contribute to waste reduction and energy-saving initiatives
The ideal candidate must:
* Be a qualified or time-served Tool Maker
* Have experience with tooling for metal forming equipment
* Be able to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
* Have strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Be proficient with basic maths and tooling tracking systems
* Be physically fit and capable of repetitive lifting (up to 50 lbs)
* Demonstrate a proactive, team-oriented attitude
