Job summary

A reputable accounting firm in Colchester is looking for an experienced individual to manage payroll, maintain accounting records, and assist with year-end procedures. The successful candidate will perform bank reconciliations and ensure accurate financial reporting. Familiarity with Sage software is essential, and AAT qualification is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities
  • Input, maintain, and review accounting records on Sage
  • Reconcile bank and VAT filing
  • Weekly and monthly payroll on Sage Payroll (45 staff to payroll)
  • Credit control on a weekly basis
  • Managing profit and loss statements and balance sheets
  • Assist with year-end procedures
  • Processing payments, invoices, and receipts
  • Maintaining petty cash
  • Answering and directing incoming calls
Qualifications

AAT Qualified or similar accountancy qualification would be beneficial but not essential
