Job description
Overview

Join Lincolnshire's passionate Quality & Standards Team as a Practice Advisor or Practice Advisor (Educator), where you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of Children's Services. Whether supporting Social Work apprentices through supervision, university liaison and recruitment, or driving continuous improvement and embedding key practice models like Signs of Safety, you'll be at the heart of a learning organisation committed to excellence. With opportunities to innovate, lead training, and collaborate county-wide, this is your chance to make a lasting impact on children, young people and families across Lincolnshire.

Roles
  • Practice Advisor (Educator): Supporting Social Work students on the apprenticeship scheme. You will support a cohort of approximately 14-19 Social Work apprentices each year along with the associated support and administrative tasks (recruitment, observations, group supervision, review meetings) and liaising with universities.
  • Practice Advisor: Supporting continuous development and improvement to practice, and supporting existing Practice Advisors across the County.
Team and Purpose

Both successful applications will become part of a team that is passionate about creating and maintaining the learning culture within Children's Services and supporting practitioners in delivering the best practice for the children, young people and families they're working with. You will be supported in understanding practice issues, developing quality improvement proposals and training packages, and directly supporting frontline practitioners' professional development. As a leader and driver of practice you will ensure that Lincolnshire's models of practice are understood, and you will support managers and their workforce in applying them in practice.

About the Team

The Quality & Standards Team is a countywide service supporting continuous learning and quality assurance for practitioners, managers and senior leaders through audit activity, practice observations and learning and development. Practice Advisors and Educators will play an integral part in embedding Signs of Safety and other key practice models, with opportunities for innovation and development in relation to the Early Career Framework.

Requirements

You should be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England and have at least five years experience. A post qualifying Practice Educator Level 1 and/or 2 is essential for the Practice Advisor (Educator) role.

In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Disability Confident

A Disability Confident employer will generally offer an interview to any applicant that declares they have a disability and meets the minimum criteria for the job as defined by the employer. It is important to note that in certain recruitment situations such as high-volume, seasonal and high-peak times, the employer may wish to limit the overall numbers of interviews offered to both disabled people and non-disabled people.
