Job Description

At Rome2Rio and Omio, we’re now at the beginning of a bold new chapter: launching a premium advertising business that connects our global audience with the world’s top travel and tourism brands.

We’re hiring our Director of Advertising Product to play a critical role in building the next chapter of monetisation. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll be a key member of the leadership team—shaping strategy, scaling our ad product portfolio, and unlocking new commercial opportunities that connect travellers with the right partners.

You’ll collaborate closely with peers across product, engineering, sales, data, marketing, and design to deliver advertising solutions that create long-term value for both users and industry partners. This is a pivotal opportunity to help evolve our business model while staying true to what makes Rome2Rio trusted by millions of travellers worldwide.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive the vision, roadmap, and performance of Rome2Rio's advertising and monetisation products.
  • Build scalable ad solutions that serve both travellers and advertisers—from sponsored listings to display, targeting, and beyond.
  • Collaborate with Consumer Product and Engineering to ensure seamless, user-centric integration of advertising across the journey.
  • Partner with Sales and Commercial teams to align product initiatives with market demand and revenue growth.
  • Define success metrics, monitor performance, and use data to inform decision-making and continuous optimisation.
  • Lead product development from strategy through execution, balancing short-term impact with long-term value.
  • Ensure high standards of quality, usability, privacy, and compliance across all ad products.
  • Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team culture and help grow product craft within the organisation.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

  • 8+ years in product leadership roles with strong focus on advertising or monetisation products.
  • Experience in transactional consumer environments—travel, e-commerce, or marketplace backgrounds preferred.
  • Deep understanding of e-commerce user journeys where monetisation ties to discovery, intent, and conversion rather than just engagement.
  • Experience owning monetisation within transactional product environments where revenue is tied to user conversion, not just engagement.
  • Expertise in ad tech, monetisation models, and programmatic ecosystem fundamentals.
  • Strategic thinking combined with bias for action and measurable results.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and partnering with Sales or Commercial functions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Passion for solving complex problems through user-centric approaches.
