Position Objective:

The AAF International Energy business primarily consists of Aftermarket sales of filter elements and other replacement components, replacement filter housings and systems, and enhancements to drive engine life, performance, output, and emissions improvements. AAF International also supplies gas turbine OEM’s with equipment and filtration solutions. The primary focus is gas turbine filtration. The gas turbine market consists of power generation for the land-based energy sectors as well as power generation, compressor drives, and pumping systems for both the land based and offshore based oil and gas sectors. Diesel engine filtration and nuclear filtration are also included in the energy portfolio.

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for successfully executing all sales goals, implementing strategic initiatives for business growth, managing external sales representatives, and direct sales activities for the assigned region.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Primary role to focus on East Coast Region (Maine to Florida) end users and distributors.
  • Achieves regional sales operational objectives; preparing and completing action plans; implementing customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying trends.
  • Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Develops installed base data and expected recurring orders as well as knowledge of competitor unit ownership in region and plans for displacing them. Manage this data along with expected demand data with sales database and CRM tools.
  • Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan in support of national objectives.
  • Maintains and expands customer base by building and maintaining rapport with key customers, identifying new customer opportunities and developing new or existing sales distributors and reps.
  • Recommends product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
  • Accomplishes sales and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Requirements

    Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering related (mechanical, electrical, environmental, chemical, industrial) field, or 5 years selling into the Energy Industry;
  • Desired experience in technical industry;
  • Demonstrated Technical sales experience in industrial settings. Filtration, power generation, oil and gas preferred;
  • Working knowledge of airflow and filtration concepts;
  • Sales channel creation and management experience;
  • Comfortable presenting in a large group setting in person or via video conferencing;
  • Experience with CRM systems, preferably SalesForce;
  • Mechanical aptitude;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization;
  • Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills;
  • Effective problem – solving, quantitative and business analysis skills, as well as mediation skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to share skills and knowledge with others;
  • Proficiency with office computer equipment and software. CRM, Excel, Word are requirements;
  • Experience in gas turbines, power generation, Oil & Gas markets, or a filtration market;
  • Experience in gas turbine filtration.
