Qualifications

  • Background as a CHP Engineer, Engine Engineer, Generator Engineer, or in a related mechanical/electrical role.
  • Strong practical understanding of engine-driven systems with transferable skills into CHP.
  • Good mechanical and electrical fault-finding capability.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites for routine servicing and breakdowns on CHP and engine systems.
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance, including diagnostics and fault rectification.
  • Produce detailed service reports and identify faults and improvement opportunities.
  • Liaise with customers for smooth service delivery.
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and contribute to engineering function.
  • Support internal and customer training activities.
  • Maintain health & safety standards, including risk assessments.
  • Act as a professional representative on customer sites.

CHP Engineer

A well-established and growing power solutions business is seeking a CHP / Engine Engineer to join its service team, supporting CHP and engine-driven power systems across the region. This role would suit an engineer from a CHP, engine, generator, or similar power generation background, including those looking to transition into the CHP sector. This is a field-based position offering a mix of planned maintenance, reactive fault finding, and technical support, backed by a knowledgeable and supportive engineering team.

Responsibilities
  • Travel to customer sites to carry out routine servicing and first-response breakdowns on CHP and engine-based power systems
  • Perform a mix of planned and reactive maintenance, including diagnostics and fault rectification
  • Produce clear and detailed service reports, identifying faults, remedial actions, and improvement opportunities
  • Liaise with customers and internal teams to ensure smooth and professional service delivery
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and contribute to the wider engineering function
  • Support internal and customer training activities where required
  • Maintain high health & safety standards, including completion of risk assessments and method statements
  • Act as a professional representative of the business on customer sites
