Opportunities cover paediatric and adult spinal deformity, complex deformity surgery, and related spinal procedures across a range of techniques and approaches.

• Fellowship provides exposure to full-endoscopic and bi-portal endoscopic spinal surgery techniques, paediatric and adult spinal deformity correction (anterior and posterior approaches, instrumented fusion, osteotomies).
• Navigation-assisted spinal surgery, primary and complex revision procedures for deformity, infection and trauma.
• Spinal tumour management and surgery including primary malignant, secondary malignant and benign tumours; management of acute spinal conditions including trauma, disc prolapse and sports injuries; degenerative conditions across cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions.
• Minimally invasive and technology-enabled spine surgery; computer navigated techniques.
• Clinical duties include MDT administration, pre- and post-operative ward rounds, surgical multidisciplinary procedures, clinics and theatre lists, and involvement in clinical research, data collection, audits, abstracts and papers.
• Fellowship aims to prepare candidates for complex spinal surgery at consultant level and for leadership within a centre of excellence; includes development of communication and teaching skills for future training of MSc students and registrars.
• The fellow will develop knowledge and leadership to take a leading role as a Consultant in a department dealing with complex spinal conditions and their sequelae.

• Applicants should either have the CCT or have undertaken 1 year Spinal fellowship or be close to it.
• Experience in spinal surgery is expected; the fellowship offers exposure to degenerative, adult and paediatric deformity surgery with emphasis on minimally invasive techniques and navigated surgery.

This fellowship year will provide specialist training in MDT administration and delivery for tertiary referrals, pre- and post-op ward rounds, surgical multidisciplinary procedures, clinics and theatre lists, clinical research including data collection and audits, and preparation of abstracts and papers for presentation and publication. The post is dedicated to high-level clinical and research experience in spinal deformity correction, with the fellow developing surgical plans for each patient and presenting complex cases at weekly MDT meetings. The fellowship may include teaching responsibilities for MSc students and registrars.
