Job description

Overview

Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Plastic Surgery. This is a fixed term appointment from 1 October and is based at Lister Hospital in Stevenage. The post is full time and the post holder will be expected to participate on the middle grade rota.

This is an excellent opportunity within the Plastic Surgery department at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. The appointee will join the Plastic Surgery team, working between 11 Plastic Surgery consultants. The on-call rota is non-resident on-call. Opportunities will be available for the appointee to develop skills in a number of subspecialist areas in Plastic Surgery.

Although near London, Welwyn Garden City and Stevenage are in rural settings and well served by rail and road. There is a wide choice of housing, good schools and excellent leisure facilities.

Responsibilities

• Initiation of the necessary investigation of patients and the referral to the relevant on-call specialist team when indicated.
• Seeing patients in the Plastic Dressing Clinic.
• Operating with consultants on both elective and trauma patients.
• Seeing patients both on the ward and in outpatient settings.
• Independently carrying out minor operation lists.
• Part of a 1-8 on call rota.
