A leading engineering firm in the UK is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead development solutions for technical challenges. You will utilize your design experience and technical knowledge to report to the customer and support project teams. Candidates should have substantial engineering expertise, report writing skills, and familiarity with CAD and PDM tools. Salary: £52,647+ depending on experience.
As part of BAE Systems Platforms and Services sector, Weapon Systems UK designs, develops, manufactures, and supports artillery systems, naval guns, and provides engineering capability to the wider BAE Systems business. Within the Mechanical Engineering team, you may support technical changes to our existing product portfolio (e.g. M777 towed howitzer, 4.5” MK.8 MOD 1 Naval Gun, AS90 Self‑Propelled Howitzer & 105 Light Gun) through analysis, concept design, tests, and trials. This role allows you to propose innovative ideas and solutions for future weapon platforms.
