Business Development Manager (Freight Forwarding) – London

Alchemy is searching for a Business Development Manager to join our exciting and expanding freight forwarding company in London. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work with operations and sales teams, focusing on air and sea freight services for both imports and exports.

What You’ll Be Doing:

1. Create and implement a strategic sales plan to engage prospective and existing customers.
2. Implement effective sales procedures and processes to achieve business objectives.
3. Identify and secure new prospects in the freight forwarding industry.
4. Engage with potential clients through in-person meetings, phone calls, and networking events.
5. Create captivating presentations and proposals for prospective consumers.
6. Set and manage your own sales appointments, adhering to a structured timetable.
7. Promote and market air and marine freight services for import and export purposes.
8. Support business development initiatives through sales meetings and reports.
9. Create visit reports using the company CRM system.
10. Meet essential sales performance indicators, including reporting and visitor KPIs.
11. Develop and maintain relationships with important customers to maximize sales potential.
12. Monitor rival activity to preserve a competitive market position.

What We’re Looking For:

1. Previous experience with project forwarding and general freight forwarding.
2. Self-motivated and able to work independently, taking initiative to achieve success.
3. Excellent market understanding and a proactive attitude to business development.
4. Valid UK driver's licence with the ability to travel throughout the UK as needed.
5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and phone skills.
6. Sales and operational experience in the freight forwarding business.
