Job summary
A leading defence engineering organisation in Bristol seeks an experienced Software Engineer to design software tools and support defence projects. Key responsibilities include developing new architectures, integrating tools into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with engineering teams. Candidates must have strong experience with Cameo or IBM Rhapsody, a solid background in C/C++, and familiarity with safety standards. The role offers a rate of £65 per hour, and is fully onsite with a 12-month contract with potential for extension.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with Cameo or IBM Rhapsody.
- Solid background in C or C++ development.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab and Docker.
- Understanding of DDS middleware and real-time operating systems.
- Familiarity with safety-related standards (DefStan 00-55, DO-178C, IEC 61508).
- Collaborative approach in multi-disciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities
- Designing and developing new software tools and architectures.
- Working closely with CI/CD specialists for integration.
- Monitoring tool effectiveness across teams.
- Supporting full software lifecycle from design to testing.
