Our primaryconsultancy service is focused on radiation protection includingappointment as Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) under the IonisingRadiation Regulations 2017 (IRR17) to a large variety of clientsacross various sectors. Job Description:

We areseeking to recruit a Graduate Health Physicist/Trainee RadiationProtection Adviser (RPA) to join our growing team. The role willreport to an experienced Health Physicist/Radiation Protection Adviserwho will act as mentor and provide on the job training and support, inaddition, we will fund the externally provided and recognised formalpostgraduate training needed. The post holder will be responsible forproviding technical support to a range of clients includingundertaking site inspection visits, producing technical reports,undertaking calculations, reviewing client documentation, producingprocedures, reviewing the results of radiological surveys, reviewingpersonal dosimetry results, undertaking radiation risk assessments,undertaking predicted dose assessments and producing radiologicaldesign basis for new facilities.

As part of thetraining programme provided we will encourage, support and mentor theGraduate Health Physicist to gain professional recognition as a memberof the Society of Radiological Protection ( and gain accreditation asa Radiation Protection Adviser via RPA2000 (

Alongside this you will also receive development and trainingto provide advice to clients on Environmental Permitting relating to sealed radioactive sources, unsealed radioactive sourcesand radioactive waste including making Radioactive SubstancesActivities (RSA) Environmental Permit applications for clients in thenuclear and non-nuclear sectors and supporting them developingsuitable Environment Dose Assessments, BAT Cases and ManagementArrangements. In addition you will development the required skills toprovide consultancy advice to duty holders involved with theTransport of Radioactive Materials .

Qualifications and Requirements:

Youwill need a relevant science degree such as radiation protection,chemistry, physics, biology or environmental science.

You must have current permanent right to live and work in theUK (e.g. British Citizenship, Indefinite Leave to Remain or SettledStatus under the EU Settlement Scheme).

The postholder must hold a UK driving licence.

Experience ofeffectively working with a range of office software includingMicrosoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and using video communicationplatforms.
