Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: GBP33,161 - GBP36,666 (dependent on skills and experience)

About Us:

Abingdon School is a leading independent day and boarding school with more than 1,000 pupils aged 11-18. The School is situated in 35 acres of beautiful grounds in the centre of Abingdon, just south of Oxford.

HR Advisor The Role:

The Abingdon Foundation is looking to appoint an engaging and experienced HR professional to join our friendly HR team in providing a high quality, professional and visible HR service across the Foundation. The Foundation comprises two schools: Abingdon School and Abingdon Prep School, as well as Abingdon School Enterprises

HR Advisor Key Responsibilities:

- Administering and advising on contractual, pay and benefits related matters

- Supporting employee relations processes

- Proactively working with managers and Heads of Department

- Advise on and support the administration of a range of other areas including staff sickness and absence, leavers/offboarding and maternity, paternity and shared parental leave

HR Advisor You:

- Educated to a degree level or equivalent

- Experience of working in a generalist HR environment

- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of employment law, keeping up to date with best practice and changes in legislation

- Experience of interpreting and advising on terms and conditions and HR policies and procedures

- Experience of working with and advising managers on sickness, disciplinary, capability and grievance matters

- Experience of writing and reviewing HR policies and procedures

- Flexible, positive and proactive team-player

- Excellent communication, administrative and IT skills
