Job summary

A leading defence engineering organisation in Bristol seeks an experienced Software Engineer to design software tools and support defence projects. Key responsibilities include developing new architectures, integrating tools into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with engineering teams. Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Cameo or IBM Rhapsody.
  • Solid background in C or C++ development.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab and Docker.
  • Understanding of DDS middleware and real-time operating systems.
  • Familiarity with safety-related standards (DefStan 00-55, DO-178C, IEC 61508).
  • Collaborative approach in multi-disciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing new software tools and architectures.
  • Working closely with CI/CD specialists for integration.
  • Monitoring tool effectiveness across teams.
  • Supporting full software lifecycle from design to testing.
