A leading NHS trust in North Tyneside is seeking a motivated HR Administrator to provide flexible administrative support in the HR Staff Bank Team. Responsibilities include advising on policies, resolving staffing queries, and maintaining HR systems. Ideal candidates should possess strong organizational skills and experience in HR. The role may involve working at various sites within the Trust.
We are seeking a motivated and conscientious administrator to work within our fast-paced HR Staff Bank Team. The HR Staff Bank team play a pivotal role in the HR Team at Northumbria Healthcare, providing support for the deployment of bank and agency workers and responding quickly to staffing demands caused by patient activity, holidays or illness across wards and departments within the Trust.
The post will be based at Northumbria House, Cobalt Business Park, but you may be required to work at other sites within the Trust. The office operates 365 days a year with hours: Monday–Friday 8am–6pm and Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays 08:30–10:30. An approximate weekend work expectation is 1 in 4. There is a rota to ensure the office is manned.

To provide a comprehensive flexible administrative Human Resources service to Bank Workers, Business Units and Agencies on queries relating to temporary staffing. To maintain computerised Human Resources Systems/Records and Databases. Provision of a comprehensive administrative Human Resources Support service to approximately 6,000 Bank Workers.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, covering one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS trust in the country. Responsibilities include providing information and guidance on HR Staff Bank Policy and Agency Policy, and advising bank workers and managers on policies, procedures and external processes (e.g. Working Time Directive, Health at Work, Agency, Work Permits).
Responsibilities also include resolving queries related to pay and vacancies, liaising with external agencies to identify staffing gaps, setting up interview arrangements (collating and distributing information for the interview panel), ensuring compliance files from recruitment agencies (including health/DBS/professional registration/immigration clearances) prior to commencement, and inputting data onto the HR computerised system.
Additional duties include assisting HR Advisors with comprehensive administrative support (e.g., liaising with payroll, sickness, maternity and confirming dates for employment) and updating HR Managers/Advisors diaries and arranging meetings as required.
