Job summary
A leading global investment bank is seeking an experienced professional to lead the operational build of a physical metals trading business. The role involves designing processes, establishing regulatory controls, and liaising with multiple teams to ensure sustainable growth. The ideal candidate will have expertise in physical commodities trading and a proven track record in implementing successful operational controls.
Qualifications
- Experience in physical commodities trading, precious metals, or commodities operations.
- Demonstrated success in building new processes and controls from scratch in a financial institution.
- Ability to navigate a matrixed, global environment and drive progress independently.
- Strong understanding of operational risk, regulatory requirements, and settlement processes.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement the end-to-end operational process for physical metals.
- Establish controls, governance, and settlement processes in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Liaise with front office, risk, legal, compliance, and technology teams.
- Support onboarding of relevant infrastructure, systems, and third-party providers.
- Provide recommendations on operating models and potential future-state scaling.
