We are seeking an experienced and people-focused HSE Officer to join our team. This role requires someone who is a strong cultural fit—engaging, personable, and not "robotic" in their approach. You will support multiple sites and teams to ensure high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Provide HSE support across approximately 250 employees across Warrington, Bredbury, and Sheffield.
- Conduct and manage audits, safe systems of work (SSOW), and risk assessments.
- Promote a positive safety culture and support continuous improvement in HSE practices.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company standards.
- Work closely with the HSE Manager, providing site-level insights and support.
- Background in manufacturing or engineering.
- Experience conducting HSE audits, SSOW, and risk assessments.
- A practical, engaging communication style with strong cultural alignment.
- Experience working within the steel industry.
- Candidates from a food manufacturing background.
- Time-served experience is acceptable alongside formal HSE qualifications.
- Reports directly to the HSE Manager.
- Works as part of the wider HSE function supporting multiple sites and approximately 250 employees.
- Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 (up to £40,000 for the ideal candidate)
- Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm
- Shift Pattern: Days
- Holidays: 25 days + 8 statutory
- Pension: 4% employer / 5% employee
- Life Assurance: 3x salary

- Additional: Overtime or shift allowance (if required)
