About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Advisor with a strong electrical background to support a major new-build power generation project in Ellesmere Port. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile development, ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are implemented and maintained throughout the construction and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and enforce HSE compliance across site activities, with a particular focus on electrical systems and installations.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
Support the development and implementation of project-specific risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
Provide HSE induction training and toolbox talks to all personnel and subcontractors.
Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, ensuring timely reporting and implementation of corrective actions.
Maintain accurate HSE records and produce regular reports for site and project leadership teams.
Liaise with contractors, client representatives, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and project standards.
Support the delivery of a proactive safety culture across the site.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an HSE Advisor on large-scale construction projects, preferably within the energy or power generation sectors.
Recognised HSE qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate).
Electrical background (time-served or relevant qualification/experience).
Solid understanding of UK health, safety and environmental legislation, particularly as it applies to electrical works.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
