A local authority in Greater London seeks a highly motivated Team Manager for a fast-paced Kinship Assessment Team within the Fostering and Permanency Service. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality assessments to kinship carers, manage a team of dedicated social workers, and ensure responsive services for young people. Lambeth is looking for a highly motivated Team Manager to manage a fast‑paced Kinship Assessment Team within our Fostering and Permanency Service. You will help deliver high‑quality assessments to kinship carers and play a key leadership role in providing high‑quality social care practice.
You will manage a team of 5 permanent social workers and 1 compliance officer and be responsible for ensuring delivery of inclusive services responsive to the needs of young people and the wider community, addressing safeguarding needs and promoting corporate parenting principles.
Social work qualified with significant experience in fostering kinship or special guardianship assessment teams. Extensive knowledge of the Children Act, fostering regulations and standards, and experience managing others within a fostering service.
Passion to lead and motivate staff, manage risk, and use multidisciplinary working with partner agencies. High level compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a performance framework, ensuring performance indicators are met and taking budget responsibility.
Experience supporting social workers to be agents of change, empowering them to provide good quality, meaningful, co‑produced social work tailored to families’ needs.
