About the role

Drive a positive health, wellbeing and belonging culture at the heart of electricity transmission

Are you passionate about building a positive and proactive health, wellbeing and belonging culture based on collaboration, care and trust? At National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET), we believe that everyone has the potential to thrive in the energy industry. Our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion is at the heart of our approach to health and wellbeing.

Acting as a subject matter expert and bringing a DEI lens to health and wellbeing, you’ll contribute to NGET’s Health & Wellbeing Strategy and delivery plan, ensuring the requirements of the Group Business Management System, UK policies and standards, are understood and implemented within the business.

You’ll engage with stakeholders, to motivate and energise leaders, empowering them to take full accountability for health, wellbeing and belonging leadership in their respective areas of the business.

Summary of Additional Accountabilities

  • Develop strategic and operational relationships both internally and externally to promote the health, wellbeing and inclusion of NGET staff.
  • Create and deliver presentations and facilitate engaging workshops as well as facilitate team discussions when needed.
  • Work closely with our People Function and third-party occupational health provider to maximise and evaluate uptake of support services offered to staff.
  • Evaluate the impact of interventions and then present these back to a wide audience.
  • Create NGET wellbeing and health performance data.
  • Maintain an up-to-date awareness of key public health developments.
  • Support in the implementation, and legal compliance, of the Stress Risk Assessment process and Mental Health programmes.
  • Use all available data to identify emerging health and wellbeing risks, using this data to set and deliver a range of risk-based programs and controls.
  • Promote a positive health and wellbeing culture through visible, proactive and consistent influential behaviours.

We’re flexible on where you’re based but we’d like to see you at our offices in Warwick once a week and there will be a need for occasional site visits. This can be combined with hybrid working from home.

What you'll need
  • Enthusiasm, creativity and the ability to bring health, wellbeing and belonging to life.
  • Knowledge of UK Health and Wellbeing Legislation.
  • Experience of managing and engaging with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience of delivering wellbeing and health programme programmes, ideally in a high-risk, corporate environment and evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Ability to evaluate, analyse and review Wellbeing and Health data.
  • A good knowledge and understanding of the key principles and research within the health, wellbeing and inclusion fields.
  • Experience of managing programmes from development through to delivery.
  • Experience of undertaking stress risk assessments and implementing controls.
  • Knowledge and application of the HSE Management Standards for work related stress.
  • Engaging and influencing senior management, line managers, employee representatives, and other specialist support in designing and adopting wellbeing and health programmes
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in the Management of Health and Wellbeing at Work, and a Current driving licence are both desirable.
What's in it for you?
