About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Commercial & Contracts Lawyer with approximately 5 years’ post-qualification experience to join our in-house legal team. While a significant part of the role will focus on drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, the successful candidate will also provide legal support across a wide range of matters, making this an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking for variety and responsibility in a dynamic business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts.
Advise business teams on contractual rights, obligations, and risks, ensuring commercially practical outcomes.
Support broader in-house legal needs, including in relation to transactions, corporate governance, compliance, employment and regulatory matters.
Assist in liaising with external counsel when required.
Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and legal processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
Provide training and guidance to colleagues on key legal and contractual issues.
Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the business and advise stakeholders accordingly.
Experience and Skills
Qualified lawyer with around 5 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE), although applications from all levels will be considered on merit.
Strong foundation in commercial law and proven experience negotiating international contracts.
Open to performing a wide-ranging day-to-way workload
Prior in-house experience, or demonstrable interest in an in-house career.
Excellent drafting and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
Commercially minded with the ability to balance risk against business objectives.
An effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to influence at all levels.
Strong organisational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
High degree of discretion and professionalism.
Collaborative and pragmatic, with confidence to work directly with senior stakeholders.
