Job description

We are working with an awarding winning contracting group with a long history of delivering innovative schemes within the clean and wastewater infrastructure arena. Due to securing multiple new workstreams within a major regional framework, my client requires a Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team. The role holder will be responsible for the commercial and contractual elements of allocated projects, reporting directly to Senior Quantity Surveyor, who will continue to mentor and support the successful individual.

Key tasks and competencies:
  • Implementing the commercial process across the contracts they are responsible for to optimise productivity and profitability.
  • Taking the lead on key commercial issues on the contracts they have responsibility for, and reporting to the Senior Management, as necessary.
  • Ensuring timely applications for payment, collection of cash and monitoring debtors on the contracts under their control.
  • Ensure robust and thorough project forecasts are produced - maximising opportunity and minimising risk.
  • Ensure consistent monthly CVR reporting and presenting to Senior Management.
  • Ensure effective change management controls are in place and all appropriate contractual notices are issued on contracts under their control.
  • Procurement and management of subcontract packages on the contract under their control within the limits of the table of Authority.
  • Advising the Operational team on commercial approach, risks, and opportunities.
  • Manage best practice commercial site functions including appropriate record keeping and reporting regimes.
  • Contribute to tender process and provide feedback to estimators.
  • Contribute to the wider business objectives.
  • Escalate any issues to senior management teams.
  • Lead with and drive Client software systems to manage and run all elements of live themes.
  • Demonstrate a good base knowledge of contractual matters predominantly within the NEC suite of contracts
