Are you an experienced Midwife with a passion for infant feeding, leadership, and making a real difference to families' lives? We are looking for someone inspiring, compassionate, and forward‑thinking to take the lead on our Infant Feeding Service – helping us achieve and sustain UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) accreditation and drive meaningful change across our maternity and neonatal services.
This is your opportunity to be part of something truly special – supporting our teams and families to give every baby the very best start in life.
For more detail about the main duties of this role, please see the job description section below. As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients stay healthy when they need it most.
Stretching across Northern, Eastern and Mid Devon, we have a workforce of over 15,000 staff, making us the largest employer in Devon. Our core services cover more than 615,000 people across more than 2,000 square miles of Devon, with specialist services extending to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
We deliver a wide range of emergency, specialist and general medical services through North Devon District Hospital and the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (Wonford). Alongside our hospitals, we provide integrated health and social care services across community inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, and homes.
Our state‑of‑the‑art equipment, leading technologies and strong links to local universities enable us to provide world‑class care to our local communities.
In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of the Trust‑wide Infant Feeding Service in line with UNICEF BFI standards, working collaboratively with maternity, neonatal and community teams to ensure consistent, evidence‑based, family‑centred care. You will champion quality improvement through audits and feedback, deliver inspiring training to build staff confidence and competence, and provide expert, compassionate advice to families, helping them make informed choices and feel confident in feeding their babies.
You will promote a culture that celebrates breastfeeding, responsive parenting and the reduction of health inequalities, ensuring every family receives best possible support from the very start.
Additional duties include representing the service at Trust meetings, developing policy and supporting service delivery across the Trust, leading and mentoring staff and working across the Trust and the wider community to support best practice infant feeding.
18.75 hours per week. Monday – Friday.
To be confirmed.
