Job description
About The Role

Youth and Schools Coordinator FTC

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as a Youth and Schools Coordinator on a Fixed Term Contract.

This role will deliver a bespoke secondary school programme across the Liverpool City Region working with targeted young people to raise awareness of key issues such as County Lines, ripple effect and crime. The role will support those who are disengaged, ‘at risk’ of offending behaviour and those at risk of not fulfilling their potential, allowing them to develop the personal skills, knowledge, and attitude to succeed in life.

What will you be doing?
  • Delivering an educational programme that will up-skill and raise the aspiration and overall engagement of young people.
  • Developing and delivering bespoke sessions that raise awareness of the dangers and issues around County Lines.
  • Ensuring the retainment of young people throughout the 8-week programme.
  • Developing a curriculum which aligns with the objectives of the LFC Foundation, schools, and curriculum agreed with funders.
  • Developing a curriculum with input from external partners to achieve programme KPI’s.
  • Work with the schools to identify a targeted cohort of young people.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with school leads and work closely with them to support all identified young people.
  • Develop a programme timetable which encourages and supports young people to attend all sessions.
  • Deliver further support to identified young people.
  • Communication with school leads to understand each individual student, behaviour, or support plans.
  • Share best practice, with school and LFC Foundation staff to further enhance the curriculum delivery.
  • Ensure the programme encourages development for young people focusing on mental health, positive behaviours, school attendance and education attainment.
  • Always adhere to LFC Foundation’s Safeguarding Policy and Procedures.
  • Always adhere to each individual schools Safeguarding Policy and Procedures.
  • Ensure the LFC Foundation Theory of Change and Outcome Framework is adhered to through strategic monitoring and evaluation processes.
  • Ensure that the monitoring and evaluation processes are conducted accurately and effectively in line with the LFC Foundation reporting procedures.
  • Ensure that continual quality assurance procedures are maintained, ensuring the programme delivery is delivered to a high standard.
  • Self‑evaluating each session to underpin strengths and areas for improvement within own practice and curriculum.
  • Manage the risk management across each individual school to ensure the safety of all stakeholders.
  • Build relationships with new stakeholders throughout the Liverpool City Region, such as Merseyside Police and local community organisations.
  • Support further areas of the LFC Foundation, when required.
Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual with a strong background in youth work to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess in‑depth knowledge of County Lines and its impact on communities, alongside proven experience in planning and delivering educational sessions tailored to vulnerable children and young people. A solid understanding of the National Curriculum, inclusive youth work practices and mentoring within a youth context is essential. The role requires the ability to implement differentiated learning, build effective relationships with stakeholders and signpost young people to relevant support services. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and time‑management skills, as well as the ability to evaluate programme delivery and outcomes. A commitment to the mission and values of Liverpool FC Foundation and its school partners is vital. Applicants should hold relevant Youth Work and Mentoring qualifications, be proficient in safeguarding practices, and possess strong IT skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in data collection and analysis to support youth intervention programmes is also required.

Why should you apply?

This is a full‑time, fixed term contract role working 35 hours per week. Your main base will be Anfield Sports and Community Centre.

To reward your hard work and commitment we offer a competitive salary, 25 days holiday (plus 8 bank holidays and the option to purchase up to an additional 5 days) and a contributory pension scheme.

You will have access to our benefits kit bag where you can get high street discounts and a selection of benefit schemes you can join. There are opportunities to get involved with volunteering through our LFC Foundation to give back to the local community.

At Liverpool Football Club, we have an unwavering commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and are always looking to make a positive difference in the communities that we operate within. We are proud of our achievements in this area; maintaining the Premier League Equality Standard Advanced Level, becoming a founding signatory of the Football Association’s Football Leadership Diversity Code and being recognised as a leader in this important area on and off the pitch. We take our responsibilities in this area seriously and through the work being done across the club, we are committed to increasing the diversity of our people and becoming an increasingly inclusive workplace for all. We are committed to hiring great people representative of diverse backgrounds, perspectives and skills across our entire business. If you share our enthusiasm and passion for inclusivity, then we want to hear from you.

Liverpool FC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all Colleagues and Volunteers to share this commitment. This role is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
