A major NHS trust in the UK is seeking candidates at ST3 level or above for a role in the Gynaecology Diagnostic and Outpatient Treatment Unit. The successful applicant will gain comprehensive experience in early pregnancy and acute gynaecological issues while developing skills in gynaecological ultrasound. Responsibilities include running outpatient clinics and participating in academic work. Ideal candidates will demonstrate energy, teamwork, and a commitment to patient care.
The successful candidate will demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and a 'can do', flexible attitude and commitment to the work schedule, who demonstrate excellence in working effectively in multidisciplinary team.
The post is designed for candidates at ST3 level and above who wish to obtain comprehensive experience in the diagnosis and management of early pregnancy and acute gynaecological problems as well as acquiring high level skills in gynaecological ultrasound. In addition, the candidate would also have the option of working towards the RCOG Special Interest Training Module in Complex early pregnancy and non-elective gynaecology. The successful candidate will be based in the Gynaecology Diagnostic and Outpatient Treatment Unit (Clinic 3) where they will see and assess patients attending a number of different clinics including booked and walk-in early pregnancy patients, acute gynaecology patients, suspected gynaecological cancer patients, general gynaecology patients and endometriosis patients requiring ultrasound assessment. They will need to demonstrate diligence, kindness, effective teamworking and a willingness to learn. They will have the opportunity to develop independent skill at surgical management of miscarriage under local anaesthetic (MVA) and outpatient hysteroscopy.
