Junior Clinical Fellow in Orthogeriatric Medicine / Bone Health (Fracture Liaison Service/Osteoporosis)

Based at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr Hospital

Responsibility for bone health and osteoporosis assessment, day to day management, co-ordination of inpatients with fragility fractures within ABUHB and liaising with clinical teams, providing osteoporosis care plan and also liaising with General Practitioners/community teams.

Main duties of the job

The main responsibilities of the post are effective and appropriate medical care to all patients sustained fragility fracture and completing falls and bone health assessment as per national standards. The key aspect of the post is to work in partnership with wider teams including trauma/radiology/rheumatology and Care of the Elderly Team (COTE) and contribute to clinical assessment virtually, telephone or through face-to-face osteoporosis clinic and multidisciplinary meetings. The post holder will be part of a large medical and multidisciplinary team working under direct consultant supervision; who is the Health Board Lead for Bone Health Services.
